Daily Sketch 10.01.2010

So, TV Investigator week comes to an end with one of my absolute favorites; Darren McGavin as Investigative Report Carl Kolchak. Carl is the main character on a tragically short-lived series called the Night Stalker (Z- if you haven’t seen this one, you need to get out more). Created by author Jeffery Rice, Kolchak first hit the tube in two made-for-TV movies, “The Night Stalker” in 1972, followed by “The Night Strangler” in 1973. He made his way to a regular series in 1975, but for reasons unknown was canceled after that one season.

The series and it’s hero Kolchak have influenced many of today’s top creators, everyone from Chris Carter of X-Files fame to Eric Kripke, creator of Supernatural. In fact the first concept Kripke pitched to CW for Supernatural was that of an investigative reporter traveling around the USA looking into the unknown and fighting the supernatural.

Anyway here he is.

Judge for yourself its believability.

Later,

the Kidd
