For today’s tasty treat of terror, I offer you the movie that did for real estate what “Jaws” dd for beach tourism. Yes, it is that 1979 demonic classic “The Amityville Horror” starring James Brolin and Margot Kidder. Vast superior to the 2005 re-make with Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George (though the re-make does get props for keeping the story set in the late 70s), the Amityville Horror is based on supposed “true event”.
Most do not believe the story of the Lutz family and the events at the Amityville House, but it makes for some good frights. The house recently went up for sale at the whooping price of $1.15 Mil, but the classic evil eye-like windows had been replaced by some foolish previous owners with normal windows. I believe they have since been replaced.
Heading out of town tomorrow so the next few Days of Halloween will be posted up at a later date (either late Monday or on Tuesday). But as a teaser the next batch will be a Universal Monster sub-set all done in pencil.
