The Daily Sketch- 01.18.11

Well, here it is the end of the Daily Sketch Goes Noir. Don’t get me wrong I could easily go on with this theme for a long time, but I felt it was time to move on.

Continuing from yesterday’s post I give you another Howard Hawks film starring Humphery Bogart and Lauren Bacall, With yet another screenplay by William Faulkner. This time up Ernest Hemingway‘s classic “To Have And Have Not“. And that classic line. You know the one that turns whistling into something deeply sexual.

Now I know you like it when I give some odd fact or trivia related to the picture’s theme or inspiration and I have one for you on this one. The film “To Have And Have Not” is the only film in history to have two Nobel Prize Winners for Literature associated with it’s production, those Nobel cats being Hemingway and Faulkner. Fun fact over on to the picture.

Marie "Slim" Browning (Lauren Bacall)

See ya tomorrow with something new.
