Daily Sketch: 07.18.2011

Howdy, my fine funky friends. The Daily Sketch is back today with not only a little visual entertainment, but some news too.

First the news. Captain America: the First Avenger opens in theaters nationwide this coming weekend and in celebration of that myself and fellow artists Garry and Brian are going to be setting up a table at the Carmike Cinemas: Carmike 10 at 511 Stephenson Avenue,  Savannah GA Friday night starting at 6:00pm; we will be showing off some artwork and doing “Special Edition” sketch cards (see here), but the kicker is this- we will be giving away sketch cards to all kids 12 years of age and younger. YUP, you read right folks. Free Sketch Cards for kids 12 years of age and younger. How’s them apples?

Now some art. A few months back there was an art challenge over at DA or maybe somewhere else (it was a few months back, so I don’t remember exactly where) that asked artist’s to create a mock cover for the magazine “Famous MONSTERS of Filmland” I started one but got caught up with other things and only recently finished it.

Here is some art.

Some of you might notice that the images on the mock cover are from my “31 Sketch days of Halloween” from last October. Anyway, it was fun to put this together and I might still play around with it at a later date… But for now, enjoy.

Tomorrow I’ll be back with a couple of samples for the up coming Captain America day, sketch cards.

See ya,

the Kidd
