Daily Sketch: 10.01.2012

Happy Halloween, kiddies.

It is that time of year again and I am kicking it off with another 31 days of Halloween.

To start this year’s Spook-tacular celebration, I have chosen my second favorite Stephen King novel and my third favorite vampire story- Salem’s Lot.

The 1979 TV Mini-series by directed by Tobe Hooper and starring David Soul, Bonnie Bedelia, Geoffrey Lewis and mr. James Mason (wot-wot), is still one of my all-time favorite horror films.

The novel comes in just under the Shining for favorite King novels, and falls right under Stoker’s Dracula and Matheson’s I Am Legend for favorite vampire stories.

“I think that house might be Hubert Marsten’s monument to evil, a kind of psychic sounding board. A supernatural beacon, if you like. Sitting there all these years, maybe holding the essence of Hubie’s evil in its old, moldering bones.
And now it’s occupied again.”

Until next time… BOO!
